Robert Besen, M.D. (pronounced BESS-en) has been a practicing Internist for over 30 years. He has extensive knowledge in nutrition and prevention of health problems. For the last 20 years he has focused his expertise and practice in the area of obesity and weight loss management. He is the President and Chief Physician of the Dr. B Clinic located in Aventura, Florida.
Dr. Besen ("Dr. B") has helped more than 4,500 patients lose weight. He has also helped patients lose weight who had previously undergone gastric bypass surgery and/or gastric banding/sleeve procedures from other weight loss physicians and had regained their weight after 3 to 4 years. He has additional expertise in helping people with binge eating disorders as well as depression eating patterns.

Dr. B is a caring physician who is diligent in following up with his patients' medical issues. He is extremely knowledgeable in the areas of neurotransmitter deficiency and imbalance, which can lead to uncontrolled hunger and inadequate satiety (fullness). Dr. B is a graduate of the University of Miami School of Medicine. He performed his residency in Internal Medicine at Monmouth Medical Center in New Jersey, University Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida and Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Florida. He has been a member of numerous organizations including The American Society of Bariatric (Weight Loss) Physicians, American Board of Clinical Metal Toxicologists, American Medical Association, American Association of Clinical Chemistry, New York Academy of Sciences and the National Nutritional Foods Association.
Dr. B has been on the faculty of Florida International University as a Clinical Preceptor in the Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner Ship Training Program. He has also trained numerous Licensed Medical Assistant students for Broward College, Brown-Mackie College, Florida Career College and the Medvance Institute.
